Participant Information...

1. The competition is open to all brewers. Home and commercial brewer entries will be judged together. An official entry form must be completed for participation in the  Las Vegas Beer Festival™ Brewers Cup Competition. All fees must be included with the entry forms at the time of submission.

2. The entry form must be filled out & signed by the brewer submitting the entry. No entries will be returned. Each entry must consist of six (6) samples, in 12oz bottles. Labels may appear on bottles. You may enter as many categories as you like.

3. Every bottle should have a completed bottle ID tag attached to it with a rubber band. Bottle ID tags will be available for download with the entry form. Categories are designated by numbers and subcategories are designated with letters.

4. Professional judging will be conducted by teams of qualified judges. Participating judges may submit entries, but may not judge the categories that include their entries. Entries will be judged according to the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) style guidelines.

5. Beers are judged according to style guidelines for the subcategory as listed by the entrant. Directors, judges, or registrars will not classify or reclassify an entry under any circumstances.

6. The point formula for the competition is as follows: 5 points for 3rd place, 10 points for 2nd place, 15 points for 1st place and 25 points for "Best of Show".

7. At the end of the first day, Blue, Red & White Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category. Entries must receive a minimum judge’s score of 24 to be eligible for an award. Blue Ribbon winners will advance to the “Best of Show” round which takes place on the second day of the competition.

8. On the second day, the "Best of Show" round of the judging will continue with the presentation of Gold, Silver, & Bronze1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

9. The competition will conclude with the Las Vegas Beer Festival™ Brewers Cup being given to the brewer who has been awarded the most points combined from all categories.

10. The awards will be presented to the primary brewer. Assistant brewers of award winning beers will be announced and listed in the official results.

11. The "Best of Show" winners will have the opportunity to brew their winning recipes at one of the local Nevada Brewers Guild breweries.


Terms & Conditions...

1. The competition reserves the right to combine categories and/or subcategories to create a round for judging and prize purposes.

2. Entries submitted without the proper entry fees will not be judged. Make check or money order payable to the Nevada Brewers Guild.

3. Deadline for entries for this competition will be announced. The fee is $20.00 for the 1st entry and $10.00 for each additional entry. NO LATE OR COMPETITION DAY CARRY-IN ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

4. We will have several convenient locations in Las Vegas for drop-off or mail-in. (tba)

The Las Vegas Beer Festival™ Brewers Cup competition will be organized and run by seasoned professionals from the beer competition circuit. We are looking for qualified judges to join us for the event.

There will be compensation for your time and expertise. BJCP judges, apprentices and professional brewers are welcomed and encouraged to participate. More information about the compensation package will soon be available...

Judging will take place on Thursday andFriday, in a special tent at the festival. This will be a BJCP sanctioned competition so points will be awarded.
