When is the Las Vegas Beer Festival?

The LVBF is always held in April. The exact 2010 event dates will be announced as soon as possible...

Where is the Las Vegas Beer Festival?

We have several options on the best outdoor location for the festival. As soon as we have secured the location we will post the information...

The Main Entrance...

The main entrance will be very easy to find. There will probably be a line of people moving through it. It's a beer festival! The LVBF staff is required to check the identification of all who enter the festival to ensure they are of proper drinking age. To help the line move quickly, please have your ID ready, and make sure it is one of four types accepted by the Nevada Liquor Control Commission. Once approved you'll get an official daily wristband and will be allowed to exit & return without having to go through the line again. But once in - you probably wont want to leave!

No matter your age or appearance, please be prepared to show proper identification in order to enter to the festival. Valid ID includes an Nevada Identification card, any state driver's license or ID card with photo, a passport, or a United States military identification card with photo. We are unable to accept any foreign driver's license (with the exception of Canada). Also, the identification cannot be expired at the time of the festival.

Mugs & Tokens!

Mugs & tokens are sold at the same area in a tent located next to the main entrance. In order to sample beers at the LVBF, you must have a current year's mug. Mugs are a one-time purchase and cost $5. The mugs are 16oz plastic and can be reused each day of the festival. No glass is allowed at the festival. The best mug information - each person can have a mug in each hand - 2 mugs at a time = twice the fun!

Once you have purchased your mug, festival tokens will be needed to get beer. Beer servers will not accept cash. Festival tokens cost $1 each. One token gets you a taster portion of beer or four tokens can be used to fill your mug. Mugs & tokens are non-refundable. However, the tokens are good at next year's festival. So if you buy 20, 50 or 100 tokens and don't use them all, you can save them for next year - or the year after that.

Mugs & tokens may also be purchased in advance usually a month prior to the festival at many of our favorite local establishments. These locations will be announced soon... If the festival is crowded, having mugs in advance will save you from having to wait in the mug line. However, you will still need tokens if you don't have them.

When do Mug & Token sales end?

Mug & token sales stop a half hour before the taps are shut off. On Friday and Saturday this is 8:30pm, on Sunday 6:00pm.

When the festival gets crowded, lines can get long. We recommend that you have your mugs & tokens Friday and Saturday night by 8:15. If not, you might miss being able to get mugs & tokens on that day. The line will be served till 8:30 sharp - then it will abruptly close, just like the post office!

When do the taps close?

Taps close at 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. That means no more beer is poured after those times. The festival grounds will be open until 10pm Friday & Saturday, 7pm on Sunday. This gives everyone time to finish their beers and leave at a leisurely pace.

Festival Beers Information...

With so few days and so many beers on tap, we will have the Official LVBF Souvenir Guide Book and the LVBF Pocket Pamphlet available at the Mug & Tokens tent. The information printed in these will help you get the most of of the festival.

The LVBF Souvenir Guide Book costs $4 and provides detailed information on the beers at the event, including their makeup, the alcohol content, and information on the brewer & brewery. It will be "dictionary style" for those of you who like to know what you are drinking. There is also a map of the taps, indicating which beers are pouring in each tent, and a section for tasting notes & autographs.

The LVBF Pocket Pamphlet is a simple version of the information available for $1 that will have just the listings and locations of all the beers.

You also have the option to just "wing it" and go by the Brewers Logos that will be hanging above each tap...

W
hy does the Las Vegas Beer Festivalhave out of state beers?

The state of Nevada currently has 19 brewing companies with strong growth anticipated in the future! The goal of the Las Vegas Beer Festival is to provide a wide variety of beers from all over the USA along side our great Nevada beers.

Tasting beers that are not generally distributed throughout Nevada gives festival attendees the opportunity to sample beers they wouldn't be able to drink. Also, many of the breweries bring custom brews created just for this event - providing us special LVBF "only" beers!

Will the beers run out?

The LVBF purchases 10 kegs from each of the breweries. We then split these and pour 4 kegs on  Friday, 5 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. This way there's a better chance that you'll be able to try all the beers.

Some beers are very popular and sell out faster - there is a good chance that the beer "most talked about" will probably run out by 6-7pm on Friday night. But because of our planning, it will be return on Saturday and then again on Sunday.

If you are coming to taste certain beers, we recommend you come earlier in the day. If there is beer left over from the previous day - we'll tap those kegs too!

What else is there to do at the festival?

Tasting beer is the focus of the LVBF, but there are many other fun &  educational activities as well. The special guest brewers talks are a fantastic way to learn about beer & brewing. There will be booths featuring industry exhibits by hop growers, homebrewers, equipment suppliers, and brewing "how to" media such as books, magazines & dvd's.

There is going to be a variety of vendor booths with great products. Best of all, there will be music, comedy and other entertainment & events! Check the Entertainment & Events pages on this site for a full listing. There will be plenty of things to do & see while you enjoy great beers!

Food & Vendors...

There will be many food & vendor booths offering a variety of popular snacks & meals, beverages and other great products. Each food & vendor booth operator has the option of accepting cash, bank cards and even festival tokens as payment for your purchases.

Does the
Las Vegas Beer Festival accept credit cards or checks?

To keep thing running fast and smooth, the LVBF mug & tokens booth will not accept credit cards or checks. CASH ONLY! The food & vendor booths have the option to process bank cards, but will most likely prefer cash to keep the lines moving quickly. But don't worry - the festival will have ATM machines available - location tba...

Can I bring my own food & beverages?

Yes, you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverage. There are a few rules on beverages: all bottles must be plastic & factory sealed - no canteens or thermous style containers are allowed. This is to eliminate outside alcohol being brought in.

Can I bring my child?

Minors will only be allowed at the LVBF with a parent; guardians are not acceptable. Minors are encouraged to attend the root beer and lemonade garden, in which complimentary handcrafted root beer & lemonade is served in cups (no mugs allowed) for all minors and designated drivers.

Can I bring my pet?

Animals are not allowed on the festival site with the exception of ADA animals. This restriction is due to Nevada Health Department regulations in regards to the on-site restaurants.

Is smoking allowed?

Since this is an outdoor festival, any legal pipes, cigars & cigarettes are all welcome. A few areas may be designated non smoking for safety reasons. We do request that if you smoke, please do not litter! Use the butt cans & ashtrays located throughout the festival grounds. Also, mutual respect is required by all festival attendees. So regardless of if you love it or hate it, please, no complaining! We thank you in advance.
